Where to find bleep or extension numbers

Bleep number and extension numbers can be found on the “Induction” app: https://induction-app.com/ 

You will need to download the app, set up an account (you do not need to use an nhs.net email account) and select “Northern General Hospital” as the default directory.

If numbers are not available via the induction app, then you will need to call switchboard on ‘0’ to request a number. 

Some consultants will carry long range pagers which can only be contacted via switchboard will have to bleep for you.

How to bleep someone

1. Dial *8 and wait for the message to start
2. Enter the number you want to bleep (four digits), followed by the number you are calling from (five digits)
3. Wait for confirmation it was successful and then hang up the phone
4. Wait for a call back

If bleeping a number at RHH from NGH, dial 7734 then 8* as above.

If bleeping a number at NGH from RHH, dial 7739 then 8* as above.
